STEER CLEAR OF FLOODS

High rates of flood-related deaths in vehicles highlighted the need to change everyday driver behaviour. Steer Clear was created to prevent risky decisions in floodwater, using emotional storytelling to reframe turning around as a simple action that can save lives. The campaign targeted high-risk areas across NSW, reaching drivers during routine journeys when danger is most often underestimated.

Our Approach

To deliver this message truthfully, we needed to recreate a terrifyingly real scenario. Every decision balanced emotional impact with absolute safety. Working alongside an experienced technical director, we met all OHS requirements while carefully engineering conditions that mirrored the reality of floodwater engulfing a vehicle.

Extensive pre production allowed us to engineer the vehicle for controlled submersion, removing risk while preserving realism. Supported by a highly specialised crew, we were able to capture a moment that feels raw and confronting, without compromising safety at any stage.
